Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Paraguay Residency FAQ Your Questions Answered

That depends on the package you choose – and whether you want to do it yourself or let us handle it for you.

The processing time for temporary and then permanent residence takes the same amount of time.

DIY Guide – The process usually takes 6 to 7 months. The timing depends on how quickly you can gather the initial documents (apostilles, translations, etc.) and when you fly to Asunción. (It is also possible to purchase acceleration so that you can do everything in 1 longer or 2 short trips and within 2 months.)

Standard Package – Same general timeline (around 6–7 months), but with our personal support at Paraguayan offices, everything moves more smoothly – and with fewer mistakes.

VIP Package – Thanks to prioritized processing in Paraguay, you only need one short trip to Asunción. You’ll get both your residency and local ID in about 4 months.

Express Package – Need it done fast? We can finalize your residency and ID within 2 months from the date of submission.

Complete Package – Includes fast-tracking plus full tax optimization. Expect a 2 month timeline to receive both your Paraguayan ID and your RUC (tax ID).

💡 Planning ahead? Get in touch as early as possible – we’ll help you organize everything so you don’t waste time waiting.

➡️ You can apply for permanent residency 21–24 months after receiving your temporary residency.

No. You don’t need to live there full time. You can use your residency as a Plan B and visit only occasionally.

To keep your permanent residency valid for the full 10 years, you only need to enter Paraguay once every three years, even just for 24 hours.

The only official way to obtain permanent residency in a single visit is through the SUACE investor program. It requires a minimum investment of $70,000 USD, starting a company, and committing to creating jobs in Paraguay. It’s mainly suitable for entrepreneurs or investors who plan to launch a real business locally.

In all other cases, you first apply for temporary residency. After 21–24 months, you can apply for permanent residency.

With our express packages (VIP, Hyper Fast, or Complete), you can handle both applications (temporary now, permanent later) each during just one short visit to Asunción.

With our other packages, more visits, longer waiting times, and extra steps on your side may be required.
