Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Paraguay Residency FAQ Your Questions Answered
Can citizens from any country apply for residency through your service?
We currently specialize in assisting applicants from countries where we have verified and efficient procedures in place.
We provide support only to citizens of countries that are visa-exempt when entering Paraguay.
If your country is listed as “REQUIERE VISA” on the official Paraguayan immigration site (see full list here) – including India, China and many African or Asian countries – unfortunately, we cannot assist you at this time.
The visa process is highly uncertain, and we cannot guarantee any successful outcome.

We hope to expand our support in the future as legal conditions evolve. Thank you for your understanding.
How long does it take to get temporary or permanent residency?
It depends on the package you choose – and whether you prefer to handle everything yourself or use our on-site guidance and support in Paraguay.
The main differences between the packages are in speed, level of assistance, and the number of trips required.
🧭 “Digital Guide” and “Guide + Support”
Usually takes around 6–7 months.
If you have a university degree (which serves as proof of solvency when applying for permanent residency), you can complete the process within one or two short trips (3–4 days each).
If you don’t have a degree and plan to apply for permanent residency later, you’ll need an additional short trip after receiving your ID card to activate your tax number (RUC), which must be active for at least 3 months before applying for permanent residency.
💼 Standard
Similar duration (around 6–7 months), but with our personal guidance, the process runs more smoothly and with fewer mistakes – ideal for those planning to relocate to Paraguay long-term and not in a hurry.
🌟 VIP
Fast-track process – just one short trip if you have a university degree, and everything is completed in about 4 months.
(Without a degree and if you plan to apply for permanent residency later: two 3–4-day trips in total.)
⚡ Express
You’ll receive your temporary residency and ID card within about 2.5 months, typically in one trip.
(Without a degree and if you plan to apply for permanent residency later: two 3–4-day trips.)
💎 Complete
Includes fast-track processing and tax optimization.
Takes about 2.5 months and involves two short trips (3–4 days each).
💡 Tip: Start preparing as early as possible – it will save you time and waiting.
➡️ You can apply for permanent residency 21–24 months after obtaining your temporary one.
What are the main differences between the packages?
When choosing a package, it’s important to consider how much time you have, how quickly you want your residency processed, and whether you prefer independence or personal assistance.
If you prefer to handle everything yourself and save money, but want a detailed step-by-step guide, the Guide package is ideal.
If you also want document review and the ability to ask questions anytime via English-language online support (email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal), the Guide + Support package is for you.
If you are moving to Paraguay permanently and want personal assistance on-site, and don’t mind waiting a few months for the process to finish, the Standard package is ideal.
If you need everything done as quickly as possible, choose VIP (around 4 months) or Express (around 2.5 months).
And if you want the maximum support, including tax residency, rental contracts, bank account setup, and all tax steps, the Complete package is the one for you.
Can I get permanent residency in Paraguay in just one trip?
The only official way to obtain permanent residency in a single visit is through the SUACE investor program. It requires a minimum investment of $70,000 USD, starting a company, and committing to creating jobs in Paraguay. It’s mainly suitable for entrepreneurs or investors who plan to launch a real business locally.
In all other cases, you first apply for temporary residency. After 21–24 months, you can apply for permanent residency.
With our express packages (VIP, Express, or Complete), you can handle both applications (temporary now, permanent later) each during just one short visit to Asunción if you have a university degree.
Otherwise, after obtaining your ID card, you will need to make another trip to activate your RUC (tax number), which must be active for at least 3 months before applying for permanent residence.
With our other packages, more visits, longer waiting times, and extra steps on your side may be required.
How does personal assistance in Paraguay work?
✅ With personal assistance in Asunción, you’ll have a clearly guided step-by-step process throughout your stay, without confusion or unnecessary waiting.
✅ After arrival, you will meet our English-speaking local guide, who will help you organize the necessary steps and accompany you where needed.
During the first two days, you will complete all essential formalities – you simply sign and confirm documents, while the process itself is clearly organized and explained.
On the third day, there is usually a short visit to local offices (1–2 hours), which runs smoothly and without long waits.
✅ You also receive full online support in English via email, WhatsApp, Signal, or Telegram, where we can help with translations, guidance, and any questions you may have during the process.
✅ The cost of assistance includes local administrative fees, notary services, and document copies needed in Paraguay.
✅ This makes the process transparent, convenient, and stress-free.
✅ For the VIP, Express, and Complete packages, the price also covers fees for priority handling at local offices.
Do I have to live in Paraguay to keep the residency?
No. You don’t need to live there full time. You can use your residency as a Plan B and visit only occasionally.
To keep your permanent residency valid for the full 10 years, you only need to enter Paraguay once every three years, even just for 24 hours.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. You don’t need to speak Spanish – that’s exactly why we offer support in English.
If you choose the DIY package (Guide), it helps to know a few basic phrases or have Google Translate and mobile data. Locals are friendly and patient, but English is rarely spoken.
If you choose any of the assisted packages (Standard, VIP, Express, Complete), you won’t need to worry about the language – we’ll handle it all for you.
How does the process work for children (0–14 years old)?
The process of obtaining temporary or permanent residency for children is almost the same as for adults, with a few differences:
✅ Children do not need a criminal record check from their home country.
✅ The child must be present in person when submitting the application.
✅ You must provide the original + one certified copy of a valid ID of the parents or legal guardians:
Valid national ID card, or
Valid national identity document, or
Valid passport.
✅ If one or both parents cannot be present, a special power of attorney is required:
Issued by a notary in the country of origin, authorizing a guardian to accompany the child and handle their documents.
The absent parent must sign the power of attorney.
If issued abroad, the power of attorney must be legalized or apostilled.
The guardian must reside in Paraguay or hold Paraguayan citizenship.
✅ Following these steps ensures that children can go through the process safely and smoothly, just like adults.
Can I obtain Paraguayan citizenship? Is dual citizenship possible?
Yes, foreigners can apply for Paraguayan citizenship, but you must first hold permanent residency and be a resident in Paraguay for at least 3 years.
The citizenship process involves naturalization, which checks your residency, good conduct, and other requirements under Paraguayan law.
Dual citizenship is only possible if there is an international agreement or reciprocity between Paraguay and your home country.
For example, certain countries like Spain allow dual citizenship.
If no agreement exists, you may be required to renounce your original citizenship.
- In practice, citizens of countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and other EU states often retain their original citizenship when becoming Paraguayan.

✅ We can take care of it for $12 per document.

Is it possible to upgrade from a lower-tier package to a higher one later?

You simply pay the difference between the packages, and we’ll take care of the rest smoothly.
Just let us know in advance – we always try to find a flexible solution that makes sense for your current stage in the process.
